About Me....

According to Merriam-Webster, motley is defined as “composed of diverse and often incongruous elements”. I think that sums it up. I used to think this was a bad thing but now I proudly fly my motley flag. By all accounts, my great grandfather chose Motley to be his surname. When he left Italy in the late 1800’s, his surname was something like Matullo. I imagine that in the translation to English he discovered Motley and that was it and it has been carried on for generations. He settled in Pottsville, Pennsylvania and married an Irish woman. Together they had two children, one of which became my grandfather. My grandfather also married and Irish/English woman and my Father married a Scottish woman.  So as you can see my lineage is at least a little motley.

Welcome to my Blog! I hope you enjoy my diverse and incongruous ramblings.
